WTF - have to get carpets for the house

Anyone know about carpeting? My other half has been out of the country for a few days and I want to get some new carptets in the house. What are those folks that advertize on t.v. like? (empire or some such)? Any good or just a load of ole crap - unfortunately in NH we don't exactly have alot to chose from Plus of course when you can find someone to do any work it NH it is usually a load of ole crap :banghead:

Thanks guys - you convinced me. They're in today to do the laminate in the kitchen. Carpeting next week - there goes my Defender fund
