Ironically enough I met an older guy the other day that used to have a LR dealership in Rapid City back in the 60's and 70's. Still had some parts laying around. Bill, I am the one emailing you all the time about series trucks. Pass through WY a lot between Denver and Montana. Just never made it over to Riverton yet. Used to live in Casper. I have yet to see ANY series trucks behind barns or whatnot. I keep my eyes peeled as that is pretty much where I spend most of the time. Running around farms and ranches. I know where a whole crap load of VW's are though.

Richard

btw, good to see you on here.

There is a great Series in Dubois. Completely reworked, I think the guy's name was Ed. I'm from PA, was out there visiting. Eating a nice elk burger at the Cowboy Cafe and it drives by. Dubois is a town of less than 1000. Caught up with him a few days later, all sorts of home grown, but useful upgrades. Don't think he's a wheeler, but it's his everyday work truck.

Bill,
Nice stock of 109's you got there. You got any straight left rear quarters panels for a Series 2 109 SW you would care to sell? I have been searching high and low.

Thx,
Patrick

Regarding the soft top on a 109 5 door discussion. I have both..

yup, Bill Rice had one too that has now changed hands. Worked quite the treat and used the SW tub with middle bench seat so you could cart some folks around. he had the std hoopset but modded the center one to span between the upper b pillars, and made a set of half doors with no doortops. The std 3 door canvas covered the window opening to make up for the non existent middle door top.

So, not quite the ECR treatment but that shit is not for the faint of wallet. Series owners tend to be a little more willing to do that kind of modification themselves than people who just bought a $47k pristine 90...

Bill, I live in casper and there are a handful of Discos around here, but no Series that I know of. hell, if there were I'd probably be stalking them. And now that I see your website, I may just have to make a trip over there to visit sometime...

Come on up and have a look around, I have lots to see here!!

Rovers in the Wyoming - Montana area are very limited. There is a company in Billings, MT:

http://www.mountainrovers.com/

I didn't think it was still in business, but over the Holidays, I happened to drive past it and they have several series trucks and RR classics parked out front.

I was totally shocked to see it, yet no one else in the car even noticed the Rovers!

I have tried to get in contact with this guy but have never had any luck.. If any of you have any contact info I sure would like it...

That would be 100$ Ed, He is a great guy. His 109 has Cummings 4BDT, NV4500 trans and a ton of other goodies, and you are right about him being a wheeler, its more of a work truck for him.

There are afew Discos and Rangies up there but thats about it, they drive them because they think they are cool, not because they understand what they are driving. (thats the impression i have gotten from the ones that i have talked to) I am sure there are some series trucks hid out up there but I have not found them yet!
