On that roller lifter topic, I see Crower makes a mechanical roller:

Pretty sure they buy them from Johnson and up till a few years ago they bought their Flat tappet lifters from Topline. Before they started failing on me and not breaking in. The problem is not the lifter availability and the short nose cam billet for a roller cam is not available.

I was doing a little light sleuthing and notices the Series-1 buick 3.8 v6 has the deck height akin to the Buick 350 but the later series-II 3800 uses a "one inch shorter" deck height... but still manages 3.8 liters .. (keep in mind, there was a series-I 3800 as well).

This tells me that maaaaybe a 350 crank could be stuffed in there with some clearancing and a custom rod-piston set. Certainly a 3.8" sleeve is achievable as well.

Just benchracing at this point.
