yeah well I am friends with Jason above, and we installed ours in much the same way, he has a strange problem with his power adapter that we cannot recreate anywhere, and I have a strange problem with excess white noise (and to some degree engine noise, but I have a way around it), that we can't recreate. I have a ground strap, and whenever you plug a ground loop isolator inline with the RCA's, it mucks up the audio so much so that you can't hear alot of the audio signal. I have triend several different types of ground loop isolators, and in line noise filters and they all did the same thing. These things just don't seem to have the best quality of electronics parts, even though I still love my delphi, I feel they could have made it a little better on the hardware side.
As for the bum unit, I have tried swapping my skyfi, and cradle, changed the stereo to RCA cable, and switched ground points several times, all to no avail. And as I descibed above, when we put in Jasons skyfi, there is some strange problem with the power cable that we couldn't isolate, but we did work around. I have been eye-balling getting one of the new portable units such as the Roady, but I want to make sure I can use my existing antenae connections, because I don't want to have to rip up the interior to change everything out.
