Have patience. It's not rocket surgery.
It does help if you have a scanner that shows gear selector position but it's not needed.

There are two adjustments on the XYZ. The cable going to the shifter has a metal end going through the XYZ lever (I hope yours isn't broken off), and a slight adjustment by the mounting slots on the switch itself. Put the shifter in neutral (be sure you're wheels are blocked or off the ground) and move the cable and/or the switch until the readout on the dash shows "N". lock everything down and test that all dash readouts match the shifter position. I just repaired and installed an XYZ in my '03 last month. If you're repairing the switch by disassembly and cleaning (I use a light bit of dielectric grease on internals), don't bother with using pop rivets to reassmble (you may crack the housing), instead use 6/32" x 5/8" nuts and screws. That way if you ever need to do the job again it will be easy to take apart and clean. I've rebuilt three of these using this method with no problems.

Well if you really want help fixing this car you should tell these guys why you put the switch in and basically what the problem is with the car. I really think at this point that it was misdiagnosed.

I never said i did I’m asking reasonable people for any information i might not be aware of as far as adjusting the switch to coincide with the shifter , now as I’ve wasted enough time trying to pointlessly enlighten you so I’m finished here.

If that didn’t help you I’m not sure anybody will be able to.

You could do better if you listened to him.
