out of someone and what should your reaction be, well to be pissed at the police of course.

>Eighteen-year-old Stephen Schumaker's father turned his anger to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, who decided to release the video and is now under a gag order by the court.

"Grady Judd, our great sheriff, he made a mountain out of a molehill with all these trumped up charges for these kids," he said.<

I guess it depends where you're standing whether it's a mountain or molehill. I'd assume the victims parents don't agree with his statement.

After being arrested they were pretty blas? about the whole thing, even asking if they could leave and go to cheer leading practice. That is until they were charge as adults with kidnapping, funny how a life sentence can take all the fun out of something. :D

If it were a simple one-on-one fight with both sides agreeing it was a fight, I'd ask my kid if he learned his lesson. As for the video taped beatdown of an innocent girl, I'd let my kid rot in jail until the trial.

and I want to see videos, champana.

Being on the subject of fights, I am in high school and there are fights every week. I live in a "good neighborhood too, you just have to stay smart and dont do anything stupid. I just think its weird when parents see videos of stuff like this on youtube and it becomes a national crisis. These parents need to shorten the rope on their kids until they prove themselves:boxer:

Fights at school every week and you live in a good area? Either I'm getting too old to relate or you don't know what a "good neighborhood" really is , or a little of each.

Funny thing is, when I was in HS (1991-1995), fighting involved fists, steel-toed boots, and a couple of your friends around the both of you. When the fight was over, you either ended it out of respect that you had done enough and resolved your differences, or the fight ended there. These days, if you get into a fight, you have to question whether the other guy is packing a gun, knife, or what his friends intend to do. Then, the fight never ends there as the guy who gets his ass kicked tends to want retribution and can't accept that he got his rear handed to him. Times have changed. As a parent, I do worry about it. Not about my kid being able to defend himself, but my kid being able to defend himself when the other asshat has a gun.

none of your fucking business
When I was in highschool 2000-2004, fights were afterschool....taken to a remote location and settled there. Usually it was between two guys that had the same friends so nothing got out of control.

Those girls dont deserve to be tried as adults....but criminal action should be taken.

i live in an extremely good area. i'd say 85% of my town are affluent, white collar people. there's a small portion of town where most of the minorities live. either way, we have to have some inner city kids shipped in by bus everyday to keep our diversity at an acceptable level, or something strange like that. needless to say, the weekly fights at our school are solely between minority students. thee fights usually take place during lunch, too, if that has any connection. i love them though. it's quite entertaining to watch, especially when ESPN has nothing good on the plasma's at lunch time. (yes, we have three 52" plasma's mounted on our lunchroom walls. i told you i live in a good area)

ha. I guess my form of sarcasm is a little subtler than the dweb usual. I was just makng the point that a good area and the frequency of fights isn't directly corrolated. Our school gets stupid amounts of funding and apparently had nothing better to do than spend it on tvs that cost 3000$ each. Its ridiculous, really. I hope those girls get what the deserve

I don't know if I agree about that. If the girl is hurt as bad as reported, hearing problems, blurred vision, ect, and not just playing it up for a lawsuit, then I'm ok with it. But let's face it, even it tried as adults I'm pretty sure they aren't going to get life.
