Out of curiosity I asked a local shop that specializes in Rover diesel conversions what they charge to put a 300tdi into a US truck that the customer supplies: $15,000. The fact that Zak can offer a complete truck with the conversion for $13,500 makes me wonder how he does it.

Apparently "looks awesome" means it looks like its been parked under a tree for 2 months. If you're really interested in a tdi disco I'll be looking to sell my 98 in the coming months and i guarantee it looks better than that.

I agree if you are going to put all the effort into the engine conversion then another hour cleaning and polishing the final product seems like a no-brainer, but what do I know? Let me know when you are ready to sell. I might be interested if I ever get paid from my Greenland trip.
