First, it should be on for the first 100 feet of driving or so after starting the car, then it goes off. Second, if it trips after that you could have a problem. A good way to see if you may actually have a problem is to reset the sensors. 1. Get your radio code!! (Do not proceed without it!) 2. disconnect the ground wire from the battery for about 30 seconds, then reconnect and tighten. 3. Now drive your car like normal. The light should come on when starting, this is the system doing it's normal check. You will now have to insert your radio code according to the directions in your manual. While driving, look for the light to come on. If the ABS light no longer comes on while driving you probably just had a sensitive sensor tripping for an unknown reason. If it comes back on again, you may want to have your brakes checked, because this is telling you that there may actually be a problem. http://landrover.mrbaileyshistory.net |

Neal: Actually, the light comes on when you turn the key, them should instantly go off for a split second if there are no stored fault codes from the light coming on previously, then it comes back on and stays on until you've gone faster than 5 mph. I'm not aware of what disconnecting the battery will do for you other than running the risk of tripping the SRS light. "Reset the sensors" usually refers to gently tapping each of the four wheeel sensors into place in the event they have worked loose. It' a mechanical, not electrical, process. Do a keyword search (on the left) for "abs sensor". Go to this link in the archives: ../17/1549.html"MB">
