Need help to determine whats the best way to fix it or buy a new chassis. My buddy's 95 Disco radius arm bracket (driver side) got pushed 2 to 3 inch back after hitting a rock (smiles) going 20 to 30 mph. Aluminum rims totally wrecked but 265 tire survived. Anyways, to cut the story short, we checked the bracket and it cracked on the weld. Dealer got the bracket for $292.00 but not in stock for two weeks. Buddy decides to find a good welder, plans to take the warped bracket off from the frame, hammer it back to the original shape and re-weld. But before doing that, the cut has to be covered and strengthened, how? we don't know. Any recommendations is highly needed or the Disco retires. His wishlist adds up to lockers and extreme stuffs. We wont quit the rocks and sands because of a 1 1/2 inch cut on the frame. Please help. |
