I recently took my 96 disco automatic on the beach and got a little bogged down. After moving through a few low gears I finally got out. No big deal. Now my transfer shift lever will not budge. It has always worked fine in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions. |

Can you move it from lock to un-lock? What setting are you stuck in(low lock, low unlock, high lock)? |

I would first reach up on top of the transfer case while on your back and make sure there is no driftwood or debris stuck in the area of your linkages. Maybe a few coins ( or seashells) got down inside the shifter boot inside the cab of the truck pull it up and check. If it got wet perhaps the solenoid on the lt230 got buggered-up and has it locked solid or just came unclipped leaving it locked. I don't think the transfer case just gave up the ghost on you quite yet. |
