I've been thinking about getting a snorkel for my disco. I know there are quite a few advantages in having one...but i still cant picture my truck going through deep water without stalling...is a snorkel alone enough for the engine not to flood???

Okay, does anyone have actual proof that your mileage increases? I live and wheel in Utah, so getting less dust in the airfilter and the chicks digging it already makes me want one, just not a high priority. But if your mileage goes up, that would make me much more interested. So any one actually prove this works?

Keep in mind all those impressive videos of trucks floating down streams as well as the Camel trucks are all Diesel which can tolerate and survive total submersion a LOT better than petrol engines.

Petrol engines can be saved from severe damage if you fall into deep water crossing but you still have other concerns. Granted not as huge as sucking water up into the engine but they are not suited for deep water duty.
