I had the same problem with my 94 disco for two years i lived with the idle at stop signs with the rpm going up and down then the thing would stop running then would start up and run fine for a period of time. Somtimes I would get a code 44/45. Followed everone's suggestion to replace stepper motor, speed sensor spark plug wires and of course last thing take to the dealer and spend alot of money which i did with no results. But i bought a can of carb cleaner and removed the air plenum sprayed the inside around the butterfly and for the last 9 months the trucks been running without any fault. The only thing i could think of is that the carbon builds up on the butterfly and the servo motor cannot control it correctly. Hope this helps. |
