I am running without a thermostat at this time. Since the engine is much more slow to heat up will the ecu stay in the closed-loop / starting mode and leave the mix overly rich to compensate for the cold engine w/no thermostat? Will this cause undue carbon build up from too running rich and poorer MPG until I put in a new thermostat ? Would it kill the engine to drive without a thermostat in winter - how ?? why ?? |

I think you answered your own question. I don't think it would kill the engine during the winter, just think the heater will not be as effective and the engine will run a lot rougher. Also I'm referring to the mild winters in the mid-atlantic since I don't know where you live. |
