Recently, the '94 Disco I started making a loud "belching" noise from the passenger side bank of cylinders. I recently replaced my Bosch Platinums w/ Chamption Truck Plugs and the Beck & Arney wires w/ Bosch wires (because the crappy B&A connectors broke off...after 2 months). It all started when the connector for the #6 spark plug broke. The Bosch units were on back order and I was forced to drive the Disco w/ the broken connector for approx 100 miles more until I got the Boschs. I thought the new wires would remedy the problem, but it has not, although, it doesn't hesitate like before, but is equally as loud still. Could it be cylinder / exhaust gasket damage? Or perhaps the spark plug on the #6 (there was oil on the electode when I pulled it out)? BTW, I've had a broken cat for about 1 month, but hasn't been loud like this, but more a rattling noise. Help guys! It's driving me insane how many probs I've had w/ my gosh-darn Disco!

lol....

I would think that a "belching" sound would be a gasket leak of some sort, or possibly, a cracked exhaust manifold, FWIW....

Alrighty, problem solved. Apparently, the passenger side y-pipe & gasket were both cracked causing the horrible noises. Got the y-pipe welded, and gasket replaced, and the rig runs better than it did when we bought the damn thing!
