i never owned a landrover. i found a disco sd, 1999 w/ 30k miles and i really like it. i must decide between it and the toyota 4-runner. i will commute to work 40 miles per day and use it for duckhunting (muddy areas and frozen boat ramps) on weekends. i want the rover but i'm not a do it yourself mechanic. how much will i hafta spend per year and how reliable can i expect a 1999 disco to be? i visited other general auto webs where discovery owners always seem to have problems. the same site in the toyota 4-runner forum has nothing but praise for their vehicle. HELP! |

If you don't want to do the work yourself, you're better off, cost wise, with the 4-runner. Honestly, for the same model year, it's less work and a lower cost for what you are looking for. Will do fine in muddy areas and towing boats. my 2 cents. pwc |
