Does anyone have a picture of the detent spring / grub screw on a D2? I'm trying to put in the solenoid CDL from GBR and directions say to remove the detent spring, but I'm not sure where it is.

hmmm... not sure. I did the D1 linkage myself. In that setup I don't ever remember a spring of any kind. Where in the setup are you? Maybe the directions are talking about a spring on the solenoid?

Al,

This is what the instructions say:

"Energize the solenoid, the lever bolt should now fit through the rose joint and Diff Lock lever. There must be free movement of the in-line swivel when the system is energized. Remove the detent spring. This is no longer required. The solenoid holds at 150N, 3 times the holding force of the detent ....."

The only other info I found concerning the grub screw/spring was at ../17/427.html"#444444">

Kyle,

If I am reading this correctly, I think GBR instructions are referring to the solenoid itself. Remember, a detent spring does not have to resemble a coil form, detent srpings can come in linear or as a Push - Pull perpendicular type. If I had a picture of your solenoid I could show you.

I'll check back in a few hours........

Paul,

Look at the link in my previous post. It looks like it is on the front output housing somewhere. After reading the thread for that link, I'm still not 100% sure.

On the front output housing there is an allen keyed grub screw on the flat part near the warning switch and the 3 bolt diff lock cover plate/ Remove the grub screw and it will reveal the detent spring and ball.

Yeah, that's it. Ron is correct. I couldn't find it before because it was caked with dirt.

Ron- Many thanks. Do you have any idea what size allen wrench for that thing?

Kyle
