I have a 07' LR3 HSE with the 4.4L V8 and it has been very reliable. How does the 5.0L V8 compare to it in terms of reliability? Possible going to go look at a 2011 LR4 but not sure if that engine is going to be as reliable as the 4.4L V8. Thoughts?

It won't be as reliable. But a lot more fun when it's running.

The 4.4L Jag motor is probably the best motor JLR has ever made. The 5.0 has some issues, but if you change the oil and don't overheat it, you won't ever have a problem. 90% of the time when the 5.0 overheats we just replace the head gaskets.

An LR4 is so much better it is worth the switch. I really don't like LR3s.

LR4s are better in most ways, except in guilt after using them hard, those nightclub taillights, and the slightly feminized design.
