I don’t know if you need to do that. Usually in cases like this Land Rover updates the part for what ever reason. Then because they don’t come out and say what the difference is in the bracket (maybe nothing) they sell all the old stock to Atlantic British. You’re probably buying a part that was destined for a JLR parts dept. But now if you want to read between the lines on that they won’t pay me to replace that idler pulley unless it’s got that new bracket on it. So is that because the new bracket is somehow stronger and better? Or is it because they think that if the idler was failing the bracket was damaged?
Either way, I can not buy that pulley without that bracket. I don’t fight it, they don’t ever seem to give us all the info. They treat us like a petulant kid, they told us to replace it and enjoy it when we don’t listen.
