I say do what you have to do. Just drop the name 'Defender' from it and let the Defender name remain with the 'old school' land rovers. Wouldnt it be nice to get a basic model without all that electronic gadgetry that will be the first thing to go wonky when you leave pavement.

You're paying for the motor (and a few bucks for the truck). Those diesels are not cheap. But they are great (IMO much better than the v8).

The bars in the seats are LATCH. '94 doesnt have them. :banghead:

I'm trying to figure out how to safely put a carseat into a '94 DI. First off, there is no LATCH, so I'm stuck using the seat belt Second, the seat belts do not ratchet/lock when you pull them all the way out, so I think I'm stuck with the metal clasp and relying on the lap belt only portion...
