You will notice a rattling noise underneath your vehicle's hood when you start it. If the chain is loose, you may hear a loud, knocking sound from the engine. It may backfire or misfire.
Also, if the pumps filtering mechanism get clogged with impurities the engine will show signs of rough firing. Injectors need constant pressure. If fuel isn't pumped constantly and smoothly signs of hesitant start and stumbling problem on ignition will be the result.

I am getting the same codes (1316, 0304). How did you know it was the coil packs? I'm running new kingsborne 8mm wires and champion copper plugs. Also installed all new coil packs. Though they are not genuine. When I unplug the MAF and clear the codes they don't come back. Any thoughts?

When I did the compression test I think what I got was 140...it was about 8 months ago. What about a partially clogged converter? I am getting spark and everything. I just wonder if the engine ecu is faulty. What would throw off the ignition timing?
The pressure test was for the cooling system. I did a compression test awile back and all the cylinders where uniform. I would like to do another compression test though since its been some time and components have been replaced. Is there an easy way to deal with a stuck valve?
