I’m looking for an intake manifold for a Disco 1, 4.0 Gems engine.

As I recall there’s also a certain procedure to follow, it involves turning on the ignition, disconnect the jumper wire, wait 10 seconds and reconnect the jumper. You might have to do a search to find if that’s correct.

This might not be any help but I had to jump that multi-plug under the seat 3 or 4 times to get the light to go off after doing some brake work. Fault 25 is a misfire Code, not sure about that.

Atlantic British web site has instructions on how to bypass the window lift ecu on Disco 1 as that seems to be a common failure. Also I tried to repair the ecu with no luck.

I did the bypass and they worked great for a few weeks, then the rear window fuse and fan fuse would both blow as soon as I turned the ignition, undid the bypass and that fixed the fuse problem but no windows again. Resoldered the ecu but that didn?t help so I thought maybe a ecu switch would do it.

Anybody have a decent functioning window lift ecu for a disco 1? Thanks, T.R.

Do you have a Disco 1 window lift ecu in decent shape?

Have you checked the headlight/turn signal stalk on the steering column? Doesn't the 95 soft dash have the same one as Disco I?

Yes, sometimes multiple clicking as the door lock actuators were spazzing out. Easy enough to identify, just remove the door panel and check the condition of the lift channel, mine were so rusted they were almost flat, when new they are shaped like a U.

I had a similar problem with my 92, it was the window lift channel separating from rusting away and catching the window locking linkage as I was raising or lowering the front windows, both fronts were doing it.

How about the brake booster/servo? Is it the same as 92 with ABS?

I bought my 92 RRC from these guys, they do offer some nice rides at high prices. I didn't mind the price I paid because they replaced the heater core, all brake components and headliner but I have a couple complaints about them. They waited until payment was sent before they said, oh shit we...

Take the door panel off the driver's side front door and check the condition of the window lift channel. As they deteriorate they spread apart and interfere with the locking mechanism.

I had a 97 Disco that did the same thing every time I had the ac on high for a long period, not sure what the cause was. I recharged the system with new coolant and that seemed to take care of the problem.
