    Quick AC Question

1999 DII: So I have the AC system on a vacuum now for about 30 minutes. There is still gassing through the compressor exhaust. Is that moisture still being removed or is in gassing from the oil in the compressor? Thanks in advance, Bryno

    Brake Line Failure

So I had a hard stop at the red light yesterday and this is what I find after I had to run the light because I couldn't stop: <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/1p-95EHFW3HoE3mj-C4Jt57-LixnvAsn99mutLqW_hk?feat=embedwebsite"><img...

    O2's flat-lining at 140/150 deg.

1999 DII, 220,000 OK, so I got a misfire a couple weeks ago, idled rough for a few minutes, kept driving as I had to get my boys to school. Idle got better, still rough, but registered these codes: p150 & p174 P150: O2 - malfunction bank 2, upstream P174: Too lean bank 2 My 02's were...

    O2 Failing, 2nd in a day!

I have ruined 2 x O2's in the last couple days (warrantied). It is bank 2 sensor 1, upstream. I have recently received a code, replaced the o2, ran fine for 100+ miles. Also, I am using the Torque app on my android and I can monitor the o2 activity and the Fuel Trim. During that 100+...

    ETC question

I have an '05 and the ETC is amazing, much better than my '99 DII. But on the Discovery Board I have asked the question about improving the DII TC. Some have said that the '03-'04 TC is better than earlier models. Does anyone have 1st hand knowledge of the '03-'04 TC as compared to the LR3?

    D2 ETC ... Improvement?

I was reading some thread last night about ETC vs. TT vs. detroit vs. ARB. Very entertaining. :applause: However, it got me thinking about the ETC in the LR3. My wife's LR3 TC is amazing, especially compared to the D2. It nearly makes the rear locker option superfluous (I did say nearly)...

    Watts Mod

I have been thinking about doing this on my own, but thought i would seek some input first. Eye to eye on the link is 13.5". A 160 deg cut/weld at 3.5" from eye will yield 13.34" eye to eye, a loss of .158" or 5/32". That angle should yield about 1/2" greater distance from the watts bracket...

    Pulling Timing...I think!

I have a '99 DII, 4.6l. I have been chasing some power loss for some time now. I think I am pulling timing, but not sure why. I have cleaned all codes except P0332 / P0150 or P0332 / P0130. The O2 code follows the o2, which is new, but getting it traded out in the morning to hopefully...

    Rear Diff replacement

Changing the thread as I am no replacing a diff, not diagnosing a wheel bearing issue. I have reviewed the repair manual and looks like after removal of the exhaust, the drive shaft must be removed and of course the half shafts. Looks like I can remove the half shaft with the knuckle in-tack...

    wheel bearing?

My 2005 LR3 with 82k has been making a metalic rubbing/scrapping noise coming from the passenger rear. I sounds like brake rub, and since I was near a brake job anyway, I replaced rotors and pads. Followed the directions from LR on adjusting the Ebrake when reassembling. I have the same noise...

Fox 2.0 12" for sale, off DII

SOLD I bought the Fox 2.0 12" 5/8 Emulsion (non res) shock from my DII last year, installed last summer. These were bought from Down South and have 1 free re-valve on them. They are currently valved at 90/100 Fr & 85/100 Rr. This economy has killed me and I sadly haven't had the opportunity...

    Chasing power loss

Quick history on my problem with '99 DII: I installed a 4.6 w/ headers (no cats) and Piper cam @ 136k. Power was great ran like a champ. At about 170k, I lost my 1st gear from the 'D' position. I still have '1' and can shift into 'D' when I get to about 8-10 MPH, drove for 20k without any...

drain the fuel tank w/o dropping

If I were in need (which I am) of draining the LR3 fuel tank of about 4 gallons, how would I do that without having to drop the tank? Is there an easy to find fuel line at the rail of otherwise?

Installing Fox shocks - upper/rear of the DII

So I am installing the Fox 2.0 on the rear last night and ran into a glitch! It appears that the rear, upper mount on my D2 is too narrow for the Fox shock. The bilstein has an tapper on the top of the shock, the fox is squared off; so the top of the shock body hits the mount, not allowing...

    Mounting 1/2" shock on a 12mm bolt - Fox?

I have heard people say that you can mount the 1/2" heim joint on the stock 12mm DII shock bolts without any problem. However, others have said to buy the reducer bushings! Still others have said to drill out the mounting holes and use 1/2" bolts. What are your thoughts? I want to do it...
