i just had a block (d2 4.0) pressure checked. The block cleared ok. My question is, shouldnt the block be heated while testing? The machinist said that they didnt do that and he didnt know anyone who did. He said he tested at 3x the pressure and tested it 3 times to make sure. Does this sound legit?

01 d2 i have the top end apart chasing a tick/light knock. i want to check the lifters individually to see if one has failed. is there a way to do this? i tried to compress a couple of them with one of the push rods but they are too tight to compress by hand. suggestions?
