I did.. sounded a little rough with it in gear but when i took it out of gear and just let it idle with the truck emergency parking break on, it purred. it was only when I drove it. as for the explosions, it literally sounded like muffled firecrackers going off under the hood on the drivers side.

it really sounded like the small explosion sounds were coming from under the hood...? and i swear i could smell something burning. but maybe i was inflating it. possible low fluids somewhere? it ran fine the last time i drove it, which was probably in March.

My 96 D1 had been sitting since winter. Battery died so I just got a new one and got it started up. Went to drive it to take the old battery up, and at the first stop sign, i put it into 1st and it seemed to have no power. Then what sounded like popping sounds under the hood on the drivers...

Converting the Roto flex driveshaft. To a you joint. Getting the pin out of the third in the back is proving very difficult. Does anyone have any tactics that I could use to get that thing out a little easier?

I'll check it. Added the fuses and got obd to work. Was able to clear the check engine light. p1158 which Ray mentioned is an O2 sensor
