Hi,
I have a 2004 Disco II that had a minor accident a while back. The body shop replaced the door but ever since, there is a buzz/rattle coming from the door panel. I finally got around to pulling the panel and securing it properly to stop the minor annoyance.
However, while the door was...
Regarding the steering wheel controller, I don't remember which wire it was, but it was the one that was documented I think in a post somewhere on this board. After programming the PAC-SWI-PS, it has worked flawlessly. I don't have the delay that Durt refers to.
Sorry I didn't take pics to help...
No problem Paxton... I hope you also install the steering wheel controller. I didn't bother to do a write-up for that one, as there was a video from the manufacturer on how to program the sequence to register the buttons from the steering wheel.
Sorry - I was only on weekly updates.
Yes, the system sounds much better with the new head unit. It could be however, that the unit I bought has a full graphic equalizer instead of just bass and treble controls. It sounds more "powerful", if that makes any sense.
I used to run an iPod tape...

Don't kill yourself. Get yourself some radio removal keys - I used some Kenwood ones. Takes about 5 seconds to pull it out with these. See my new post at:

I finally got around to replacing the tape unit in my '04 Disco II (who still has tapes?). Anyhow, I saw a lot of posts looking for information, so here's the brief, slightly illustrated guide on how to do this - retaining factory amps and wiring. I have an SE model with the Alpine tape...
Finally got around to taking care of this... everything above is correct. My dealer didn't even have this bulb, so ordered it from AB. Here is some detail for those worried about this minor operation:
Tools needed:
#2 Phillips screwdriver (magnetic tip would be great)
#1 Phillips screwdriver...
Just a final follow-up on my issue; turned out it was the front diff. My indie shop found me a good used one to replace it. Not as a painful as I was expecting (except the front brakes/rotors that needed replacing!).
Thanks for the replies and input.
Update: Unknown driveline sound - Disco II
I finally got around to taking my DII into the shop after poking around underneath myself. Here's what the indy shop I went to found. A high degree of play in the front driveshaft; pretty tight in the back. Their expert was away due to a funeral, so...
Hi,
I have a new set of sounds emanating from under my 2004 Disco II that concern me.
The first one is a light clunk (i.e. if the stereo is on, you won't hear it) that is noticeable when you are in top gear but only doing about 40 mph, and you let off on the gas. A minor similar clunk can be...
Hi - I gave up trying to find a mud tire 29" tall for my new (used) 16" rims. So now I'm looking for a spare 16" rim (any style) that you might have kicking around. Thanks,
Rich
