Maybe the quality will improve... at least to chinese levels ;)

It's running a 14CUX ECU, so Rovergauge is the only really useful diagnistics tool. Outside of the US, all the Disco 1 V8's ran 14CUX as EFI.

That looks like a massive vacuum leak, right there, plus that's the PCV system, that puts a light vacuum on the crankcase. That TEE is the one with the restrictor in, that can get clogged too. It's plastic, so be gentle! With the engine idling, if you cover the end of that metal pipe, the engine...

    95 D1 roof drains

The large hole is up behind the rubber trim along the screen base. Directly behind the square protrusion in my pic. If you look at my previous pic (which does have the trim removed), you can see it - You may be able to do it without removing the trim. If you use my pic as a guide, and maybe...

I'd suggest building/buying a rovergauge cable, and start there. What year is it, and does it runs Lambdas? It's a really simple EFI system, but plenty of people fiddle with things and bodge them up. Check your timing. Personally, I run 10 BTDC on my high compression with lambdas, and run 95...

It won't give you a rough idle - more unstable... and they don't fail as often as people seem to want to replace them anyway. It's a giant looking Nut thing, on the RHS of the plenum, at the rear. You're in Aus, right? so you have a 3.9 with 14CUX. Most on here are US based, so they got GEMS...

    95 D1 roof drains

I'd go further up too - the big hole is under the pillar trim, and it's sealer is often cracked too.

SUPER common fault on D1's, is the sealer down the windsheil pillar, under the plastic scuttle panel and down the A pillar behind the fender - the sealer is comeplete crap and shrinks/cracks and no longer seals. There is a massive hole at the windsheild pillar base, that the sealer allows water...

D1 hood release cable frustration and a revelation

Mine was really tight. I just sprayed in some wd40 to loosen things up, then followed with some Wurth HHS2000 spray lude and blew in in with a little compressed air, before it thickened up. Easy to pull with 2 fingers now.

Rough idle / stalling (was - Bad spark plug wires?)

That sounds a lot more like leaky injectors, causing a rich mixture on hot starts - I had that on my 97 3.9 (japan) until I replaced my injectors. If I didn't let it idle for a bit, or hold the revs up to about 1200 for a while as an alternative, it would stall upon selecting drive, hunt and...

Advice needed - Rust repair and tracking down leak

You can also fit the D2 upper door seal, that is additional to the standard door seal. I attached it with 3M body tape, rather than making holes. None of the water sits on top of the rear seal, it's forced to run down either side.

Custom Headlight Project for D1 (1995 NAS 14CUX)

https://www.airplex.co.nz/product/1719-headlight-guard-clear-pair Dunno if they'll ship to the US, but they look very similar - acrylic headlight covers.

    Performance Fuel Injectors

The MAF screw only works on non-Lambda cars (and it's effect tapers off as revs and load increase anyway), it's ignored on cars running a Lambda map. I've burned an EEPROM and changed it about 14 times so far ;) So far it's 100% UNscientific, as I just adjusted the fuel multiplier to get the...

Narrow 15 degree cone spray angle, but no bent angle (perfect for Rover V8 intake shapes) I got 8 of...

    Super extra bad MPG

Looks like the right cable. I made my own, with a generic connector, that I soldered onto the connections in the original plug. Whatever you are comfortable with though - that cable isn't too badly priced, considering you need to buy the FTDI cable and the resistor anyway. Rovergauge shows...
