Makes sense - on investigation I noted two relays for indicators, left and right - so unlikely that both have gone wonky in the same way.
I'll search on the indicator stalk and see what's involved - thx.
When I get into my D2 and drive away, for the first 15 mins or so, I get a delay with every use of the indicator.
I click the lever, and nothing happens for a few seconds - then the indicator operates as normal.
This happens in both directions - and keeps happening until the car is warmed up...
Will be interested to se how the install goes - you doing your own, or getting a local shop to do it?
I'm considering the same unit for my D2.
Can you post back when you get the unit and do the install?
Thx.
When mine went, SWMBO was driving, and she pissed around with the window switch so much trying to get it to work that the motor got toasted as well!
Needed new motor and mech $600! :(
I get this effect with the original brakes on my LR3 from new - so it may be a 'feature', or I may have an issue on my brakes as well.
I've just adapted to it.
Anyone else noticed this?
Hi Hugues - and welcome!
Yep - the AUX jack is in a rather odd location (for the driver), but makes sense if you think of the average family with iPod enabled kids etc, this way they can access the AUX socket as easily as the driver/passenger.
Don't forget to set the volume on your iPod/iPhone...
I have both, having kept my 02D2 when I got an Lr3.
D2 is great, but drives like a truck compared to an LR3, which drives like a luxury SUV.
No regrets with either vehicle - but it is clear that LR have made huge strides when it comes to the lR3 - both on and off road.
Air suspension is...
Chris - I have to give you props for your conversion to the Syn side of the house!
I never thought I'd see the day you recommend Mobil1 0W40 for a DII! :jump2:
Press button on center console
Watch window go down
Listen for strange grinding noise
Realize that window will no longer go back up
Order new window mech and/or motor (again)
Chris - it's not clear if the guy is asking about a spot check - or a check once he's done the flush refill process.
If it's flush/refill the the car has to be warmed up, and the manual gear selection process gone through.
If he checks levels without doing this, we know he's in trouble!
For reference - three years after changing my ATF fluid out (For Mobil1 ATF)
step 7) order new transmission, since the new fluid has just cleaned all the gunk that was keeping yours together
Has not happened....
Probably makes no difference, as long as the engine is warmed up before you check level, and you've been through the manual gear selection process outlined above.
I use Neutral.
When full, Trans fluid should pour/drip out of the fill hole, so be ready!
If it doesn't - then you need to top up...
As a last resort I have one of those oil filter wrenches which digs into the can, but definitely provides traction as it does so.
Only had to use it once - with a stealership fitted oil filter!
Agree with other posters - oil the threads and the rubber seal, fit by hand and snug up.
Tend to...
Here's my problem, when people start describing a multigrade oil as 'too thin', I really start to question whether they understand anything about oil lubrication products, and how they work :ack: .
