Obviously recognizing that no amount of rust is too much if you are dedicated, I wanted some feedback on the rust on my 1995 D1. Had it since 1998, love the car, but trying to decide where to draw the line. This isn't the full extent of the rust - the driver side wheel well is toast along with...
Does anyone know what size o-ring is used on the fuel pressure regulator port (95 Discovery). When I pulled the regulator while doing the head gaskets, the little white plastic ring either broke or was broken.
I got some fancy red hose from Advance Auto that's working just fine and looks extra dope - although honestly it wasn't any cheaper than just buying the hose from AB or RoversNorth so if I did it again I'd just buy the hose from them. Now I just have to fix the leaking fuel line.
Thanks as...
I finally had to replace the head gaskets on my 95 D1 at 195k. In the process of pulling it down the hose from the IACV to the throttle broke - it was original to the truck so no surprise. My question is: do I really need to order the specific hose (ETC7874) or can I just get some by-the-foot...
I think that's only for GEMS vehicles BDM. Mine is a '95, so it's a 14CUX. None of that fancy-pants adaptive values stuff. I'm going to hit up Will Tillery for a used TPS and see if that makes a difference.
Alright, IACV replaced, problem remains. Computer is throwing code 19 now - which research tells me is either the TPS or the MAF. Anybody know how to source a less than $200 TPS?
No, no flooding of the engine on stall. I ordered a new IACV - will be here tomorrow. We'll see if that fixes it. Thanks to both of you for the input. I'm curious about the VSS issue and why it's acting up after replacing. I don't particularly want to throw another $60 at another unit...
OK, so I disconnected the VSS and the problem has disappeared, so clearly an issue with something in that chain. I'll address at a later date.
A larger problem has arisen. When slowing from speed to a full stop, the engine will cut off. If the slowing is deliberate enough and paced...
I jinxed it. Driving it home yesterday, it gave me the same intermittent deceleration that I had back in December, though not as bad. It would only do it a couple of times, and then it would run fine. New VSS bad? Connection bad? Other issues?
Finally got around to tackling this issue - jacked up the front - and the lug nuts were loose. LOL. Tightened lug nuts = no more clunk!
Drove it to work today - awesome having this thing back and functional.
