Hella lights, rebuildable starter and belt tensioner

Original Hellas with the Land Rover logo. NOTE one is missing the gray grating. The starter and tensioner are both shot but could be rebuilt. I will separate but I'd love to ship it all at once. I don't know what this pile is worth. How about $75+ shipping from 18964? Write me directly at...

94 Discovery 137,000 runs, trail truck or for parts BO

It is with great sadness that I'm selling my 94 Disco. It would make a great trail truck, which is why I've hung on to it. Good: It runs pretty well. jump seats subwoofer nearly new: tires (General Grabber 245) great in snow and mud! muffler and cat. pipe is good, too. aftermarket...

94 Discovery 137,000 runs, trail truck or for parts BO

It is with great sadness that I'm selling my 94 Disco. It's been parked since Spring. It does run pretty well, but the brakes do not work. I THINK the diaphragm in the power assist is ruptured. You're gonna need a trailer or tow. It's fixable but should probably be considered as parts. The...

    Need a new Disco

My 94 has reached the point of not worth fixing. I should get an easy to fix American suv, but I love the LR! I think I want to get another that's compatible so I can salvage parts from my old one. Am I limited to a D1 or do some parts fit D2? Suggestions? Advice? Anyone near Philly have a...

    Need a new Disco

My 94 has hit the point of not worth fixing. I should go looking for a nice, easy to find and fix American suv, but dammit, I love that Land Rover! I want another one. I think I want another D1 so I can strip the old one for parts. I want to know how late I can go and still use the 94 for my...

    94 D1 brake problems

Symptoms: very weak brake power. Can't lock the thing on dry pavement even at <5 mph. On wet, the right front will lock and the truck will keep right on going. It feels like only that one wheel is braking. Had my shop check it out, they say everything on the axles is working correctly and...

    radio wire colors

I'm trying to put a new(er) radio in my 94 D1. It has the power amp and CD changer. I don't care about the CD changer (I'll sell it here if there's any interest) but wouldn't mind keeping the amp because it has a subwoofer. My problem: a PO butchered the wires in the dash. The connectors are...

    A Collection of Lucas Jokes

    * The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark." * Lucas denies having invented darkness. But they still claim the "sudden, unexpected darkness" * Lucas is the patent holder for the short circuit. * Lucas - Inventor of the first intermittent wiper. * Lucas - Inventor of the self-dimming headlamp...

    How to test fuel pressure....?

It's useless to search here for it, I get 100 hits that tell people to do it, but not how. Can someone describe or point me in the right direction? Truck is a D1, I have a no-start situation.

    seeking muffler suggestions

The Pennsylvania winter finally killed my muffler. Time to upgrade! I'd like a little HP and MPG boost but don't want a lot of interior noise. This is a daily driver, occasional towing and off-road. Under $200. What do you guys suggest?

    Which is the A/C relay?

It's hot here in the Mid-Atlantic! :ack: No power at connector to clutch, the fuse is good. Pressure is in the normal range. If I hotwire the compressor clutch I get cold air. I suspect the relay. I popped off the kick and there are a dozen down there. Which one is the A/C? 94 D1...

    Everyone said 265s would fit!

:banghead: I just spent a bunch of money to put on 265/70/16s on my D1 and they're HITTING the steering arm! All my research said they'd fit! Nobody said anything about "on offset wheels" which I cannot afford, so don't even suggest it unless you're going to give me a set. What am I gonna do now?

D1 that wouldn't pass emissions- conclusion

Thanks again to all that made suggestions, but Roving Beetle wins. He hooked me up with J&J in Bryn Mawr, who was actually willing to touch it and had some idea of what they were doing. The problem was cheap and simple to fix. It only took one good dose of injector/top end cleaner and a tweak...

How do I test the fuel pressure regulator on a D1?

How do I test the fuel pressure regulator on a D1? It's either that or the injectors blowing in too much fuel. I'd like to try the fuel pressure regulator first. Also interested in good NON-dealer sources for such parts. Thanks!

Who will work on LRs other than the dealer in Philly area?

I'm desperate! My local shops don't even want to touch my Disco. I can't get it to pass the emission test. I've already got a ticket for driving expired. I'm unemployed. I can't afford to pay dealer prices. HELP! I'm in Montgomery Co. PA. Does anyone here know a shop near me that's...

I need help getting thru emissions test!

My '94 D1 has flunked twice. The HC is too high. My mechanic said "it's probably the O2 sensors" so I replaced them. FAIL. There's about a dozen possible causes which include almost every piece of emisson control equipment on the truck. Can you help me narrow it down before I have to spend...

    I need 94 D1 O2 sensor replacment advice

YES, I searched the forumn already, only got me more confused. I've seen 2, 3, and 4 wire replacements, also that different years have different numbers of sensors. WTF? I'm in a hurry as I can't get it inspected until they are in and it passes the emissions test. No sticker, no drive...
