Does anyone know if you can override the Air Suspension somehow to stay at the highest setting all the time?

I thought I heard somewhere that you could, but I can't remember...

Thanks

I don't know about the high profile (wading profile?), but I know there is a mod over at rangerovers.net to get the suspension ECU to go into the special 'extended profile' that is 1.2 inches above the highest setting - the one that normally only kicks in when your in a bit of trouble and bottomed out. Check it out at http://www.rangerovers.net/rrupgrades/extended.html looks like a relatively easy low-buck mod.
Hope that helps!
Cheers

I believe even then it will override itself at 35 mph and settle back down to normal ride height. There is no SAFE way to make it stay at the highest setting without serious modifications.

Sounds like the original poster is looking for a cheap lift. Don't do it.

I just want it left in the highest manual setting if possible. I use the override so that it will not drop to "Highway Mode".

I recently went a size larger than the stock tire and they rub from time to time, plus it just looks better when its another 1.5 inches or so higher. This isn't a huge deal, just wondering if there was something fairly easy to do. Then again, should have known better owning several Land Rovers for a while now...

I have a well modified D2 so this is simply for the rubbing issue, not a cheap lift. All the air suspension has been recently fixed under warranty for free so a spring conversion wasn't really practical. Wow, did I just say that? I'm not really one for practicality...

Thanks for the replies.

You can go into the program and set all the stored height settings for each position to the same uplifted position. So no matter what mode the computer thinks it needs to be in the height setting it will shoot for is the same number it just came from. The end results is the truck stays in the same position no matter what the speed.

Highway speed stability is the reason I don't plan to go swap to springs, but there again I've not had any problems with the EAS. :knockwood:

Try the inhibit switch, that's what it's for. You don't want the profile to change when trailering and the inhibit switch does just that.

It will override the inhibit switch at 35 mph and drop you down from "wading" height to "standard" height.

The EAS computer has stored heights for all four corners and all four height profiles. It is possible to make adjustments to all of the stored height locations. Each stored height has a limit to how far it can be adjusted. So for example you cannot set the access height to the same level as the extended profile. If you try to modify the EAS stored heights past a certain limit, the EAS will go into fault mode and reset all of the stored heights to a factory default. Then you have to clear the EAS fault and start the calibration all over again.

There are several problems with calibrating the EAS heights way past the normal heights. Things in the drive train begin to stress and the driving is unstable. So be careful when lifting the EAS programatically.

I have my extended height profile about 2 inches above standard and the normal height about 1 inch above standard. This work ok with the standard shocks and EAS sensor arms. Make sure that the extended height profile does not bottom out your shocks. Rock the vehicle back and forth to feel for the limit of the shock absorbers.
