Have a 04 D2 here at work and had a low oil light on and confirmed with pressure gauge. Thought it might be a bad oil pump so we dropped the pan to start timing cover repair and found a CAM BEARING in the sump!

the rear most bearing was pushed out and bounced around and dropped to the pan.

engine isnt even loud when idleing or at higher RPM's

just thought you guys would like to know :victory:

I lost pressure in my 03 4.6 and it was a center cam bearing slid out. Seems to me like it is becoming more comon. Still getting a ton of slipped liners though. We have 4 of them in the shop over the last three weeks.

My '04 w/119K has a slipped cam bearing too. Over 9K miles on it now since losing pressure and no worries. Even at 108-degrees in traffic this July it ran cool. You reach a zen with the oil light. I miss it now when it occasionally flickers out.
