I have been told that 16 inch rims will not fit on an 04 discovery SE. Does anyone know if this is true? :banghead: I am about 6 months out on needing new tires and switching to 16 seams like the best bet. Thanks for the help

I posted this in ur trade thread as well but idk why they would tell u that. I have a 2004 S that came with stock 16s on it and I've seen plenty of SE's that have 16s that work jusy fine. So no need to worry

So what type of 16's does everyone have? I'm just not a fan of the LR stock 16's that you always see.

Look at D2's from 1999-2004 and RR P38's from 1995-2002. Any wheel you see on those trucks will fit your truck. Most of them are 16" or 18" alloys. You can also find 16" steelies.

If it's a 1998 disco then it's a D1 and the wheels will not fit a D2.

1998 was the start of the Disco 2 production in the UK, ours was made in November 1998 but not registered until June 1999.

The USA market didn't see any Disco 2's until 1999, but it is entirely possible for there to be a LHD 1998 Disco 2 around.

The stud PCD and sizes on the Disco 1 and Disco 2 are completely different as has been said, the P38 Rangie shares the same fitting as the Disco 2, as does the RR Sport.

We had 19" RR Sport wheels on ours when we bought it last year, but the ride was bad (RR have air suspension) so we went back to stock 16" wheels with 255/65R16 Pirelli Scorpions.

Disco 2 wheel fitment here:

Sorry but there is no chance of a DII titled as a 98 in the USA. None what so ever.

They all came in as 99's and had crash certifications as a introduction 99 model year.

Is it an issue installing wheels without the tire pressure sensor on a truck that does?

Most better tire shops can add a sensor to any rim, they simpley attach to the back side of the air inlet. Discount tire as a example sells all of the parts needed to repair and replace faulty sensors in OEM rims or update a earlier rims to work with OEM onboard systems.
