19# injectors and emissions tests

I have a leaking injector so I was going to go ahead and do them all. I order some Ford Racing 19# injectors but just got refunded as they are not in stock-seems to be the story everywhere.

I have emissions testing in my county although I'm not totally sure a 94 is subject but I'll find that out.

Will these injectors cause me to fail my inspection? Will they damage the cats (I'm guessing the increased emissions is also heat related and possibly bad for the cats)?

If they are a problem, what is a better option?

The Ford Racing injectors. I had someone mention that they might screw up my emissions so I wanted to check.

You got anything in stock PT-the 19# seem to be on B/O everywhere.

Thanks Phil, I thought that was the case. If (or when) I do cut out the cats will that burn out the mufflers-i.e. should I change them at the same time?

My exhaust is actually really good, the manifolds are the only part with surface rust.

Still can't find anyone with the Ford Racing injectors in stock-I'm wondering if Ford cut production until 2011 or maybe cut the item all together. Accel makes a similar injector-anyone have any experience with these?

What about ebay? As much as I hate ebay I found a great deal on a set that had been tested/cleaned/rebuilt. PT threw them in my truck while he had it and it is running great.

Never used these guys but here you go if you want to check them out:

Oh and if you cut your cats out, best to pull them, gut them, then reinstall. Some places in NC even if you don't get emissions tested will jack the car up and confirm cats installed. A piece of straight pipe through the middle of them will save from the annoying sound hollow cats make.

Cheers,

Mike

I found some Venom injectors on Summit's site that have the same flow rate and are 16ohm as PT recommended. Anyone using these? I'm not familiar with the brand.

Right or wrong no worries on emissions for a '94 here in NC. Only 9
'96 and newer are tested (ODBII). Only a standard saftey inspection is required for '95 and older vehicles.
