Hello,

I recently acquired this 93' SWB in a property Estate liquidation. I am obviously assuming it is not a Camel trophy competition vehicle, but I was not aware of LR ever offering this color as an option in 1993 for the Range Rover, or any special edition. Is there...?

Just as you see it, with the stock 3.9L and a full basket roofrack and extra HELLA 500s I have to put back on it.

Input much appreciated.

Camel Trophy color isn't actually yellow, it's more a sand color. This is someone's attempt to be a wannabe CT car.

That is not a factory offered color in 1993. And thankfully it wasn't! CT is called sandglow. 1987 was the only year a RR was used as the main vehicle.

That's exactly my point. I've never seen it in a RRC other than the CT. And this IS factory paint. It's the same color everywhere, under carpets, engine bay, sills, etc.
What you do make of it...?

I KNOW ( or at least I assume) that there was no option in any year other than 1987. How did this end up in this color?

actually Sandglow was not officially available in 1987 in the US or Europe.

Sandglow was an official color available in Europe for MY 1980 and 81 according to old RR brochures.

my guess is that someone had a total color change done.

I know that, but that's why it's puzzling. I looked EVERYWHERE ( under carpets, all sills, engine and everywhere else I could think of), and it's all the same color.

I just cannot see someone doing a "custom repaint" on their own, and gut the whole car to do that. It would be financially crazy..!

Yes, expensive. At the same time not that difficult as the interior of a RRC can be taken out very easily. A color change done by ECR would be performed this way. And it would be expensive.
