1996 Disco, Cranks, no fuel or spark

Kind of stumped here.

1996 Disco with 170k miles.

Recently its had trouble starting when you turn the key there is about a 3sec delay before the engine cranks over. After that the ignition will crank as you turn the key and about the 3rd time it will start. (I read a few posts that had this problem but no solutions).

The "green box" under the passenger dash mounted to the right of the relays would make excessive clicking when the alarm is engaged.

However, yesterday it started, I turned it off and returned an hour later and it will still crank but no start.

So far:
The engine cranks but does not fire.
There is no spark.
There is no fuel pressure. The pump is receiving a 12V supply (via the purple/white wire) but the pump is not humming. The pump was removed and tested using a 12v supply and proved to be functional.
The dash was torn apart thinking the "Spider Circuit" was the issue. Unfortunately there is no Spider in my truck. :banghead:

There are no check engine lights. No codes.

Ideas? Im thinking the POS alarm system is at fault but not sure what to start looking.

It really sucks when both your vehicles go down at the same time. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Im not sure what to test from the ignition switch, but the four soldered wires from the left side of the ignition all test a 12v signal when the key is turned to the on position.

Is there something in particular I should be testing?

So far the delayed turning over has only happened 1 out of 15 times.

also, why would the fuel pump be receiving power from the purple/white wire but not engaging? I did test the pump but is there a chance it could be bad?

Sorry for the late response, I just spent the last 1hr putting the entire dash back together.

Dan, no go on the cargo door.

Any other ideas?

Would it be worth replacing the fuel pump?

Im just confused on why it would be getting power to the pump (through the startup stage?) and not run.

Verdict: Fuel Pump.

man, how many people have been down that road...
If there is power across the terminals of the pump but no fuel pressure, that pretty much limits the guesswork.

I'm having the same problem, but I dont get power to the purple wire for the fuel pump. I tested the pump with a jumper wire to put 12V+ to the fuel pump, it turned on. I still dont have spark and I'm getting the delayed turnover when I try to crank as well.
What ended up fixing your problem? what is an e3270?

Ya would like to know what was the problem I'm having the same symptoms myself I tried used- but working crank sensor and nothing..... Again no spark and hesitant on starting when I put the key in last position ....

someone suggested multi function relay... lets try it.
