Word. So for 1500 pounds completely installed to include all the little things and guaranteed w/ a warranty is a decent deal it sounds like.

Yeah there is company down near Southampton that calls themselves Landrover Uk and they often advertise a 200tdi (disco engine) swap for 200gbp. They use a new clutch , waterpump, and do the timing belt.
What are you going to put it in ? Buy something cool ? Is 1500 for a disco or a defender engine ?

It's for a disco engine. I'm going to shop around and see what all I can get as far as deals on this. It'll be going into an 84 90 that I picked up in very original condition with very very little rust, straight body work, could use a paint job... but your jaw would drop at a pic of the inside rear tub. I probably won't get this engine swap done until next fall, I'm using it for tooling around and the old engine is going strong and working smoothly(I got it with 79k original miles).

Thank you for link. Yeah. I made up my mind that this is happening this month.

Right on Matt! I was too young and drunk when I was living there to think that through. I did have a nice '65 Ford Cortina GT though. That thing was FUN! Wish I'd shipped it back. I'd probably wrapped it around a pole though. Send pics when you can.

Cheers,

Mike

You won't be sorry. The Tdi totaly transforms the truck. I had a 4 liter natural in mine and switched to Tdi and the truck is so much more driveable ts amazing.:applause:

i'd like to see your 90 dude. is your disco still stateside?

Nah. I brought it over.

First pic is it sitting in my garage. Second pic is after I swapped its wheels and tires onto the Disco to get it passed the MOT. They would not pass it if it had any rubbing at all. So simple solution. Surprisingly the 255/85 KM2s ride nicer and are easier to turn with no power steering than 205/85s are.

love the lift up handle/ roll up window doors they only made those for a year or two.

Is it the picture angle or is that garage super tight ?

haha. the garage is super tight. the 90 fits in it fine and you can open both sides and get out and walk around it on each side. i parked the Disco in it once and decided never again. Mirrors folded in, about 1 inch on each side front and back and you had to be skinny and flexible like me to get out. If a girl with boobs bigger than a B cup tried to get out she'd be totally F-ed. the door from the garage to the house is to the right in that pic and the part the pic was taken from was the washer dryer work bench and freezer area.

dave, took about 10 minutes to get used to driving. only time that it gets crazy are when you are alone in a parking lot. haven't done any wheeling yet, working on getting completely settled. the driving thing really isn't that bad. when I ride shotgun is when I freak out cause you're brain reverts to US spec and then it just gets weird cause you're not driving. same thing happens now when I'm shotgun in US spec vehicles my brain is thinking UK spec and it's just not good. I now always ride in the back seat if there are enough to fill up the front.

I know what you mean. Have 3 110's here @ the moment. Mine is LHD (converted) but the others are right. Just moving them around in the driveway you find yourself walking up to the wrong door. It feels freaky to ride on the left side as a passenger far more than it does to be the driver on the right.:banghead:

I flew home for a few days right at new years, very last minute thing. When I got picked up at the airport I almost lost it riding in the passenger seat cause I felt like I should have been driving. It's nuts. I'm placing a call later this week to see when I'll be able to get this done. Toying with the idea of getting an R380 to replace the LT77. What are opinions on differences between the two transmissions?
