Updated my ad to include more detailed photos as well as include some details of the build I forgot. I would be interested in taking some partial trades for some parts for a Series Rover plus cash; parabolic springs (3 and 4 pack HD units for a 109), 235/85-16 or preferrably 255/85-16 MT's (or possibly 7.50-16 XZL's, although they're a little on the small side for what I'd like, 8.25's would be IDEAL), salisbury rear axle...

I don't think my price is really out of line. I appreciate the opinion, but it would cost more than double to build a similar truck with a fresh hi-spec engine and rebuilt drivetrain, plus all of the aftermarket goodies. I know aftermarket parts don't add value, but I have also built and sold more than my share of off-road and race cars (SCCA Solo and Solo 2 cars, hill-climb racers, etc...), and know that the asking price is pretty realistic for the value received.

Can you elaborate more?

It appears to be a nice truck, but for $10k it needs to either be a really clean 04 with low miles, or a really nice, clean built truck. For 10k I would expect lockers, winch, HD axles, and a perfectly running truck. I would not spend that money on a sagging headliner. Clean up the truck, take a few driveway shots and expect to get anywhere from $5k to maybe $6.5k on a great day, anymore than that and you've done great.

Clean 04's aren't even bringing 10k anymore. Robert is pretty close on his estimate, I could maybe see 7k to the right guy but you have to find a guy who really want's a 4.6 D2 with no lockers, axles or winch.

Go to edmunds and do a appraisal. The car came out 2700.

Take you extras, add them up, multiply by .5 and add to 2700.

I am guessing you'd come in around 5500 total. IMO, not many people are going to pay a premium for the maintenance that you have done. - engine, driveshafts, brakes.

It does have lockers, maybe not ARB's but it has the typical Tru-Trac/Detroit combo. And thanks for the input everyone. Like my ad says, I'm not in a hurry to sell it, nor do I need to, and if I don't get a close enough offer to the minimum I'd like to see for it, I'll just hang on to it. I've had quite a few hits, especially locally where the market is usually high compared to other areas. I guess D-web just isn't the best place to try to sell a car... Weird

We are a bunch of cheapfucks. That being said, your truck is high; even by ebay/craigslist standards. You simply can't expect to get all of your money back out of the mods, no matter how awesome or well-executed they are.

Ben Little got $14k or so for his '99 D1. It was practically perfect, though, with every tasteful and appropriate modification.

The only person that would pay over $10k for any D2 simply doesn't know shit about them.

If you can get close to your asking price, it won't be from an enthusiast. In any event, GLWS. It just won't be here.

You asked us to let you know if you are out of line on the price. We are telling you that you are, and you are defending your price. Why bother asking if you cant take the criticism?

FWIW, if you can find a fool to pay you $10k for it, then you have a $10k truck.
