Simple question... Where is the best place to get a good deal on an alternator for my 2004 Discovery?

This. It will be at your door before you hang up the phone. Just don't call on a Saturday. Plus he offers guarantees on the parts he sells. Other parts vendors I've had good luck with here include Marty (Drillbit), Paul Grant, PT Schram, and surely some others I'm forgetting.

When my 2nd went out within a year I called Bosch and they told me that they have a Lifetime warranty - Called the local Bosch Dude i was dealing with and set up an exchange.

Call Bosch first and see what they say.
