My check engine light lit up today and pulled the codes. Getting code P0128 "Coolant Temp below thermostat regulating temp".

My coolant is up to level and I don't think my thermostat is bad and fans work fine. I'm guessing it's my coolant temp sensor. Anyone know where the sensor is located on my 4.4 Jag block before I start pulling the plastic off? Not the one on the oil filter adapter.

Your thermostat has a rubber seal around the edge that tears/deforms and the thermostat stays open causing the fault....So the ecu sees the system as not reaching operating temp fast enough.... The sensor is doing its job..

Replace the seal. (thermostat)
