This is mostly a curiosity. My understanding is the slipped liner issue is mostly in later engines, typically later D2s with 4.6 engines.
How often have you seen a 4.0 from a GEMS D1 with a slipped liner? I personally have seen one in a 96 D1 that occurred at 55,000 miles but I purchased it that way and do not know if overheating contributed to the problem.
