An update for anybody searching engine swaps in the future.

After about 3,000 miles, the swap seems to have been a success. Had an apparent vacuum leak, causing it to run lean, but that problem eventually went away by itself...

What about not having the SAI heads on there? Everything OK w/o them?

Yep, it runs just fine without them. The Service Engine Soon light is on all the time with the right and left side SAI error codes, but does not seem to have an impact on the actual running of the motor.

As a side note, all my gaskets (front cover, waterpump, oil pan, etc..) are Hi Temp RTV... didn't want to spend money on actual gaskets just to see if this experiment would work, so just used the RTV to get it up and running. No leaks so far after 3,000 miles.

I have the SAI heads on my workbench and will eventually swap them back when the RTV fails and I have to dig back into the engine... but for now, it's running good without them.
