Ok fellas, who makes the brightest flashlight that is rechargeable, that lasts for at least a couple hours on a charge? Is there such a flashlight?

I want to buy this light as a gift for my cousin, who is a police officer. I am staying here rent-free so I need to give something back. Some kind of really nice back-up 380 is on my list as well.

This light needs to be small enough for him to carry, yet pack a really bright light and last longer than an hour on a charge.

Do a little shopping around to find the best price, and you may or may not have to order it from overseas. This is one bad ass little light though, both myself and a friend of mine have these. Used for police work, off roading, and everything else. They're literally the brightest flashlight I've seen, this size or larger. We've beat the shit out of them, the LED doesn't use the battery charge too quickly, and they recharge quick.

I don't know if you need a light for this. Just shave your ass and dress pretty.

In my case, no. Everyone I work with carries stingers and magchargers. If my magcharger or stinger blows the bulb, or the battery shits the bed, I can always get a spare one from someone on my squad, until you can replace it. We have Magcharger and stinger chargers mounted on the wall in our locker room, so you can throw it in there while you're inside doing reports or something.

I carry my stinger led in my sap pocket most of the time, and my magcharger stays in my bag, until needed. LED's are bright, and last a long time, but they don't have a lot of throw. There's no beating a magcharger for throwing light a long disctance, plus it makes a good backup baton.

I have a Surefire 6P I bought 12 years ago when I first got hired.

Last year I bought an LED bulb for it. Holy shit is it bright. Charge lasts forever.

Several of our guys carry the pelican LAPD light. It's LED. Everyone who has one raves about them.

A little late, but I'm going to throw my $0.02 in this!

Streamlight makes a wonderful LED light that is blindingly bright and lasts 1.5-2 hours on a charge.

Now, there is another light made by the gentlemen that makes these lights ( http://www.blackbearflashlights.com/ )

It's basically a Surefire 6P modified to hold a laptop battery.

This light is freaking bright and lasts forever. The last time I tried to test the runtime, I had to turn light off at 8, yes 8 hours because I had to go to bed and didn't want to stay up longer.

It recharges in a few hours, and is simply amazing!

You can contact him at the above listed website and purchase through there. You will not be disappointed.

and FYI, I am in no way affiliated with the website or seller..... just a 100% believer and now lifetime buyer!!!

I just recently bought a Surefire G2X Pro. Super bright and had a 2.5 hour run time. Small enough to ride on your duty rig 24/7. My old G2 that used to be on my "bat belt" is now mounted ony AR. I still like a big, hefty, rechargeable like the Streamlight 20X of a night. Puts out lots of light and can crack heads too!

I have a Fenix TK35, I am very impressed with the power of this light for under $100, it runs on 4 CR123 or 2 Rechargeable 18650, these are some specs:

820 lumens - 1 hour 33 minute runtime
346 lumens - 5 hour runtime
109 lumens - 16 hour runtime
12 lumens - 170 hour runtime
820 lumens - strobe mode
109 lumens - SOS mode

6P, 9P, 9N, 8X. Been using Surefire since mid 90's. All still work fine. Have picked up new parts, batteries/ bulbs etc. 6P is mounted on an M4 works great. Not saying there aren't other lights that work better or as well. but I've have very good luck with my Surefires.
