seems a bit high to disable SLS with testbook! This was through Motorcars LTD, anyone in the Dallas area know anyone with a more reasonable rate?

Yeah I spoke to another shop and he explained it in detail. When ever I used and type of ECU programming tools (my experience with AEM) it is real easy to disable certain functions with my laptop but this isnt so. This process can take an hour.

Just simply disconnecting the compressor DID NOT work for me. Even with it disconnected, the slabs ecu was drawing enough current just by cycling itself on and off that the battery would be dead in about 3 days if I didnt drive it. Get it reprogrammed.

Yeah and it won't be fixed until you get it reprogrammed. I had mine done at the dealer and it didn't take more than 4-5 minutes...they have to cover the cost of the equipment someway! But everywhere else was going to charge 100-150 from what I was quoted...my recommendation would be to have it done at the dealer. I even had one guy local tell me that most shops don't have the equipment to disable everything on the ecu.

That sounds pretty standard to me, although it is a lot of money considering it takes all of five minutes to do with a T4 handheld...

My shop just charged me something like $55-$65 to reprogram the SLABS and check all my 3 Amigos codes...I could have had a tech friend do it but I was already at the shop and just wanted it done...
