Guys, a little background...after picking up my special "oh so cool" pants from Garrett in June I was driving home and blew out my water pump...no problem ordered a new one and on she went. BTW some bloke in a 93? RRC stopped to see if I was ok on Rte 15 in between Middleburg and Leesburg...THANKS MAN, if you are on here.
Anyways, now if I am driving slow, around town, or idling for an extended time the tempo guage spikes up A LOT! So as I was driving today I wound the windows down and turned on the heating, full, this dropped the temp guage down to a normal operating level...prob ID'd...RIGHT? If I leave the internal temp guages set to hot, with no fan it still operates perfectly in the middle of the temp guage..so this tells me the radiator is stuffed, as the fan works and a new water pump is on...RIGHT? Putting the heater on acts like a second radiator...so I assume the "real" radiator is buggered.
Tomorrow morning I am going to try and clean out the bugs and shite from the grill - if any...but?
Q is...correct diagnosis? If so - where to get the best new one? Anyone have a recommendation? I don't want to mess around buying a used one.
