NiteTrain,

Forget the Garrett comment.. It's like your girl telling you about some guy she had a great one night stand with and then showing you his picture. horrifying. You look at yourself in the mirror and ask "why?" and question the very reason for the relationship in the first place.

Just realize she was "preowned" when you got her and you had nothing to do with who was pushing all her right buttons before you.

I am as much of a badass as Wade, but without the gimpy leg in Road House.

Good to see her still getting some use. It was a very solid truck - smooth motor and very little rust.

I bought it with like 30K on it back in 2000 in LI, NY. Replaced the motor and trans (both used) when I was living in PA around 2003/2004.

garrett, were you the one that did the U-joint conversion on the rear drive shaft/flange? If so you used the wrong spacer ring for the pinion ;-)

yeah, it wasn't a major issue..the flange just didn't mesh with the pinion all the way..but it was close. I ordered the correct spacer from AB for $10.

When did you sell it? I saw you driving around in a green D1 outside of Gainesville a couple of months ago. Is this a different one?

OP, how much tread is on the Swampers? Are they 33x12.50 or skinnier?

That was likely JB driving one of my old DIs that is now owned by the company we work for - Overland Experts.

I've been driving a '07 Tacoma for a while now. Nice being able to train on a truck 8 hours a day and drive it over a 100 miles a day without issue. :)

I sold the '96 DI about 3 years ago I guess. I don't really remember.

I was offering to sell the super swampers separate to sweeten the deal for the D1. If it sells without them I'll keep them for another project and sell the defender alloy wheels. Sorry for the confusion.
