98 P38 w/cracked block

Someone locally is selling a 98 P38 with a cracked block. Assuming the rest of the truck is in good condition, what would something like that be worth? $1000-1500? Also, how much could I expect to pay for a complete engine from a LR salvage yard like Will Tillery or the like?

LOL, I refuse to pay more than $500 for non-running Rovers.

Thanks for the info, I was just taking a guess at the value. It was offered on craigslist without a price, just asking for an offer. I was thinking about making an offer, but don't really think I want the headache of a project of that magnatude right now.
