and why it it "ok" to kill?
that's not what that sandal wearing hippy taught us,
but then again, he got strung up for those silly beliefs

How many people has that sandal wearing hippys' father killed?:p

We're going to need a larger bottle.

Jen it makes you cool like me;)

I mean come on...who didn't know my comment was coming? It was a perfect set up for the likes of me. :)

And yes, I'm avoiding the real substance behind this entire thread.

Stu... you have posted a question that I have had in my mind many times. And the response that I have read has been what I have expected... as I walked my brain through every scenario of point . counterpoint. In the end reached a conclusion that I know will be argued as it has been between me an aquaintanses.

Stu I do agree with your observance of a contradiction. And based upon conversation.. I chalk it all up to... liberal arrogance..They are sooooo caught up in being right.. in sitting in a circle ans seeing Kumbaha,, in a belief that all of humanity is as concerned about humanity are ,, that nothing can possibly go wrong.

Man this really took off. To throw some white gas on the flames.

What about all those children living in hell holes in places like Russia and Haiti that no one wants.

Would they have been better off to have been aborted?

Some of these kids are so fucked up they'd never be able to be a a part of any society but they might be excellent for jobs at places like Auschwitz.

Example: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/23/AR2010042302223.html

JH. you are correct.. Stu placed the thread in a political tone. and it has become humanitarian. As this topic is.. have not been to Auschwitz.. but have spent more time than needed at Dachau.. still say.. I nor my goverment have a proper dog in the hunt.. politically.. if we talk humanities.. it becomes a different subject..
What I am tryingto say is this.. I cherish all life.. even if its that of a human whom chose to be a terrorist...Stu .s original question. but if a person chooses a path that they know lead to destruction . than so be it.

Interesting thesis this is. "defending the defenseless" would seem a very liberal idea, but who is more defenseless than a baby. And no one give me this "Fetus" shit, it's just a word to make people feel less guilty. Look at an ultrasound of an unborn baby and tell me thats not a person. Have I gotten more conservative as I've gotten older? Sure, but I'd still have been wrong if I knocked up my college girlfriend and asked her to have an abortion. Just how I feel about it.

To those who opposse killing the Social Enemy and the War Enemy, I wonder if a family member was killed by a criminal, or a child taken, your opinion would be the same.

And if you ever served on a Combat position your opinion about torture would change I am certain.

But then again, who cares what I think.

for the record, I have nothing against Gay Lifestyle, my comment was directed to the point that many of those people who claim to support Same Sex Unions, will twist on a stick if their child comes home with a same sex partner. Again my opinion.

That they miss the point that others really hate us and want to kill us.. and in an effort to get back to the point that Stu made... why cant the liberals see a need to use torture to gather intel.. when they fight for the right for a women to KILL a fetus??? that was the question..

Rug.. I have used that same argument.. many times. I agree. What if was your Duaghter.?. your Brother.?. your Husband?..Your Wife... ? would it be different then.. ? each time.. the same response,, " you dont understand.. ' MY RESPONSE.. You are damn staight I dont understand.. " it goes back to to the lack of seeing the conflicted position.. which I think was what Stu was trying to expose.. if not. I stand .. and sit.. corrected.

If a chick that I knocked up had an abortion without my consent and knowledge then wouldn't she in essence be killing me? Does that child not share my DNA? Isn't that child part of me? Something to think about....

Flyfisher.. I think we all agree.. we all cherish life.. and the right to life..I believe Stu's original question was. why do liberals fight so hard for a persons choice to KILL a fetus.. and yet. .. fight equally hard to protect the life of a person whom made a choice.. to end the lives of others.. namely AMericans by cowardly means.. Well Stu didnt use the word "cowardly" that was my interjecton
