abs issue?

I have moved very recently from CA to MI just in time for snow, ice, and cold and since we have been driving on ice i have found that if the ABS kicks in on the slush the front left wheel makes a nasty ass chunky shakey grindie noise. i also hear/feel it sometimes if i drive over a large pot hole. i hear and feel it for just a brief moment. A few years ago when i redid the rotors and shocks and springs i thin i recall having pulled the sensor out and had to reset the sensor but i am not sure that is the issue.

Does anyone have any advice on how to trouble shoot this issue?

Not that it matters, you may want to consider editing your location. No more Jack London Square, San Leandro Marina, Fishermans Warf or Lake Merrit.
