Yeah, the Seals did an alright job with their lines, but they're not actors so I expected that. The action scenes were amazing though.

The boat scene was absolutely badass, seeing them come around the bend in the river and the miniguns open up was awesome.

An I thought the same thing, I was reminded of the closing sequence from MW2

Well, for instance, all the first person scenes, throwing grenades, reloading, etc.

A lot of the scenes resembled a first-person shooter. Very cool.

I read somewhere that a lot of the gun boat scene was shot with live ammo. .....The parts of the scene shot from overhead

I was fucking around with the one active duty SEAL we have at work about this movie, he said he knew some of the guys in it and said its a big recruiting movie.

Havent seen it yet, but I am very skeptical about any "war" movie as they usually suck as far as realism.

I will wait until it comes out on red box, glad to hear it had some good reviews from those of us on Dweb who "know".

I saw it last night and sat up in my chair the whole time. I loved it.

With regard to recruitment though...the Call of Duty, first person stuff...I would bet-the-house that it is totally on purpose. Event the shots of the cities, environments emulate the video games. It is brilliant.

I have total respect for those guys. That said, there is still a lot of "Hollywood" in that movie.

Suppose the film makers have to sprinkle that in to appeal to the general public, who has no clue as to the real deal that oftentimes happens. At least this specific movie had little bits of realism; something as simple as the guy clearing the backblast, as opposed to blasting some recoiless weapon either from inside of a building (usually non-Javelin types) or firing with others in extremely close vicinity to the gunner.
