FYI

A few months now and the replacement cats are doing fine and truck is running great.

the after market cats I purchased are much smaller than stock , so expect half the life for half the price. that's fine with me cause they are at risk of being destroyed off road.

I bought a Davico Y-pipe w/ cats from Racepages for my D90 and it's not a good fit. The cat rubs the driveshaft and there's four O2 sensor bungs on this one. Just FYI in case anybody is considering the same.

Serves me right for going cheapfuck. Time to order from AB I guess.

actually it turned out my originals were not rusty, but so much clay was baked to it that it looked like rust. they must be stainless steel.

i know the new ones were stainless.

I bought a cheap y-pipe with cats from Autoparts Warehouse about 4 years ago for my D1. It's stainless, bolted right up (after I dented in the front part of the left cat a tad to clear the slave cyl) and holding well. The cost was under $300 shipped.

I purchased the Y pipe and cats from www.racepages.com

described as:
1997 Land Rover Discovery Davico Catalytic Converter Discovery Davico Price: $311.27 Qty: 1.00 Part #: DAV17072

I found a ten percent off coupon by googling. coupon code was RPCART

Under that exact same part# it says "Fits: From 6/96"

The build date on my '96 is 8/95, anybody see any reason whatsoever why it might not fit? I'm not seeing an application for a '95 on that site...

It should fit. The only difference should be the two extra bungs for the rear O2 sensors.
You should be able to plug those.

My '96 has 4 O2 sensors though...

The rear o2 sensors really don't do much, other that tell you the cats are working. As I understand it, they don't modify how the truck runs in any way. So why not just for go them?

That said, in my setup I did weld in the 2 extra 12mm bungs and put them in...

Video of how mine are setup..
